Class Project Chips

The introductory VLSI courses at Yale include the tape-out of a digital chip. Students start with only knowledge of logic design, and perhaps some computer organization/architecture, and complete a custom designed chip of their choosing (within reason!) by the end of the semester.

Here are the class projects from previous terms:

  • Fall 2017: Digital VLSI (synchronous digital VLSI)
  • Fall 2018: Silicon Compilation (asynchronous digital VLSI)
